Funky, Progressive, Acid, Rock.
Described as NewZealand's ultimate acid band
Formed in 1970 by ChCh guitarist Eddie Hansen, with Ricky Ball on drums, Paul Woolright on bass and Trevor tombleson vocals. It was at Aubrey's Nite-club in ChCh that Ticket developed that sound...a sound that stilled time...musicians & music lovers from all over would arrive at Aubrey's to hear Ticket...the heavy, funky super tight rhythm section of Paul and Ricky, allowing Eddie's guitar to soar, placing him in a league of his own and Trevor's soulful voice....
Trevor wailed and Eddie scorched
Today those who were there still speak in awe of the 'Live' "Ticket experience"
One National Newspaper reviewed a Ticket show as follows:
"Eddie Hansen calmly looks down on his guitar, his hair flying out behind him, Trevor Tombleson pads up and down the stage, one moment clutching the middle one of his three mikes, then stepping back again to prepare for the explosion, Paul Woolright stands tall and poised behind and Ricky Ball hides behind his hair and mass of drums.......dead silence from the stage and the crowd is frozen in anticipation, until suddenly Ticket explodes into".........like the guy said.."you should have been there"
Eddie Hansen would relocate to Aussie teaming up with another music Legend Harvey Mann
Ricky Ball became the back-beat of Hello Sailor
Paul Woolright would become part of the Pink Flamingo's and Hello Sailor
Trevor Tombleson changed his name to Trevor Richards, went to England and played in 'the Keith Hartley Band and now lives in the Islands
These may well be the gigs of the year
To celebrate the event Ticket's 1st album 'Awake' will be reissued by Melbourne's seventies reissue specialists..Aztec
