Merchants of Flow, Dillastrate and One Waka Live
Merchants Of Flow
Three of Ōtautahi's biggest musical forces in one place at one time.
Merchants of Flow are reuniting for a special one-off show in their hometown. This is the first time the Merchants have performed live in over two years, so be sure not to miss out! The Merchants of Flow cemented their place in the New Zealand music scene by infusing different genres together with smooth R&B vocals, developing a loyal fanbase along the way. They have toured with and supported their kiwi musical idols, including Katchafire, Sons of Zion, Soljah and Tomorrow People, as well as international acts like Fiji, J Boog, Spawnbreezie and Petah Morgan.
Fresh from their national winter tour with Katchafire, Dillastrate will be celebrating the release of their debut self-titled album with an electrically charged set featuring never-before-performed material. Born in the dirty south of Aotearoa, the duo have evolved from previous collaborative projects ahoribuzz and Soulsystem, with heavy hat tips to soul legends Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye mingling effortlessly with current neo-soul, hip-hop and electronica.
Out of the expanse of the Canterbury Plains comes One Waka - a 7-piece reggae/roots cooperative bringing their take on rockers rhythms, up skanked tempos and harmonic vibes. Inspired by the authentic roots sounds of the 60s and 70s and iconic kiwi reggae/dub greats like The Black Seeds and Katchafire, One Waka have set out to bring those vibes to the live audiences of Christchurch for the past nine years.
